With the aim of showcasing elements of the traditional and popular culture that composes our identity, the INCM, in partnership with the National Museum of Ethnology, has decided to begin work on a new series of collection coins entitled "Portuguese Ethnography".
The first coin in this series, created by the sculptor Eloísa Byrne, is dedicated to the "Arrecadas de Viana do Castelo" (gold earrings of Viana do Castelo), traditional pieces of Portuguese gold work in filigree, whose origins are lost in time and are an essential adornment of the typical bridal costumes of the women from the Minho region.
