Vaticano 2012 2€ Dia da Família

The theme of the 7th World Meeting of Families hold from 30 May to 3 June 2012 was: "The Family: Work and Celebration". In a letter to the President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, the Holy Father Benedict XVI noted that the family, work and holidays are "gifts and blessings to help us to live a fully human life". In our day the organization of work is conceived of and implemented in terms of the market and its rules, marked by an increasingly frenetic rhythm. A holiday becomes more of an opportunity to escape from this daily routine, taking on a strongly individualistic nature, instead of being an occasion to spend time together with the family. The gathering highlighted the experiences and testimonies of families coming to Milan from around the world and inspired by the family par excellence of Nazareth. The idea was to promote a reflection on the different aspects of life in modern society, seeking compatibility between work and family. At the same time, the aim was to recover a true sense of celebration, especially on Sundays, the day of reconciliation with God and among members of the smallest type of community: husband and wife, parents and children, and people of different generations. A beautiful reproduction of a happy family, looking towards the future, with the Dom of Milan on the background, is the work realized by the artist Gabriella Titotto.
