Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, was one of the masters of the Italian Renaissance, an artist who greatly influenced his contemporaries and whose works still enchant anyone who observes them.
The 'Madonna and Child, St. Sebastian and St. John the Baptist' painted in 1493 is an oil painting on panel commissioned by Cornelia Salviati, widow of the Florentine merchant Giovanni Martini, for the chapel in the church of the convent of San Domenico in Fiesole. Restored in 1995, the colours, light and perspective are considered remarkable.
