On November 25, 1975, Portugal experienced one of the most decisive moments of the period following the April Revolution. The attempted military uprising that day was defeated, contributing to the end of the most radical phase of the revolutionary process and to the consolidation of a political path based on pluralism, electoral legitimacy, and democratic institutions.
