Portugal 2014 2,5€ Military Aviation

In this year that 100 years of military aviation in Portugal are commemorated, the event is being marked by the INCM, which is minting a commemorative coin created by sculptor José Simão.
The design of this coin recalls the history of military aviation, evoking on its obverse the pioneering days of aviation, with a seaplane flying over the ocean and, on its reverse, an F16 fighter overflying land on a mission: two faces, past and present, connected by the course of aircraft.
The issue of the coin, with a face value of 2.50 Euro, is limited to 2500 copies in 925‰ silver with a numismatic proof finishing, packaged in a case with a guarantee certificate, and 75,000 in cupronickel with a normal finishing.
